Derived from the powerhouse XL80, the XL40 delivers 5,224 lumens of trail-proven illumination to a wider range of bikes. The included Hi/Low harness lets riders reduce output in low-beam mode by about 25% of high beam, producing 1,435 lumens when full brightness isn’t needed.
Engineered for dirt bikes with lower-output OEM stators, the XL40 draws only 43.5W — making it the ideal high-performance upgrade for riders who previously lacked a compatible premium option. Paired with the signature XL Trail Lens, it delivers both vertical and horizontal beam coverage with excellent near-field and peripheral visibility. The Trail Lens redistributes center beam intensity to eliminate harsh hot spots — improving clarity through elevation changes, vertical transitions, and sharp corners. The result is a smooth, evenly distributed field of light that boosts confidence in demanding terrain.
This kit replaces the OEM headlight unit and includes an inline Hi/Low Harness and the Motominded mount for easy installation.
